Today we had lunch with some long-time friends of the Pocknalls from Sydney, Nowell and Mike, and their friends from Perth, Lyn and Bob. They are all on a safari around northern Tanzania and Kenya, and invited us to join them for lunch as they passed through Arusha.
We met them at the Serena Mountain Village Lodge that sits just above Lake Duluti. Once again as with a lot of lodges in Arusha, it was an oasis hidden away. The buildings, gardens and view were just lovely.
Soon after we arrived we spotted Nowell and Mike walking up from their bungalow - they had only arrived 10 minutes earlier from Ngorongoro.

And finally Nowell was able to tell me the name of the large, yellow, bowl-like flowering vine we see growing around Arusha. It is a Solandra or Chalice Vine.
Thank you for a lovely lunch and afternoon Mike and Nowell.
