Karibu tourism fair

Today we visited the Karibu Fair - a tourism and travel fair held in Arusha each year.

We were particularly interested in seeing some friends' exhibit - Dashir Lodge.
If you are looking for a place to stay, with magnificent views of Meru and Kilimanjaro, try Darryl and Shirley's lodge.

There was plenty to eat at the fair - we went with a favourite, Khan's chicken.

Oliver, Lauren and I participated in threading some recycled glass beads on a giant wire sculpture of an elephant. The display was to promote awareness of the plight of elephants in Tanzania in the face of poaching - I heard today that it is estimated that there will be no elephants left by 2020 if poaching is not stopped!!

We also got to check out some amazing safari vehicles. They looked like great fun.
