Bonfire night

Last night it was bonfire night at the girls' school. It was like a fair or fete with different stalls selling food and toys, or games to play.
Lauren was painting nails.

It had been raining most of the day so the bonfire was moved from the sports field into the school playground area (there is going to be a lot of cleaning up today!!).
After the lighting of the bonfire there was an amazing fireworks display.

It is hard to capture how spectacular a display it was, especially on an iPhone.

It was a great night. Lots of fun.

I couldn't help wondering what the local Tanzanians (and their livestock) thought of the display.
This billy goat was sitting outside the school gates with a young boy when we entered.
Were you scared Mr Goat?

  1. So they celebrate Guy Fawkes in Tanzania!! Wow!

    1. They celebrate it because the school is a British one Sophie.
